Job Tittle: Project Engineer Pay per hour: $40/hr (W2 Contractor)
Hours per week: 40 hours a week Contract Duration: 2 years
Location: Hybrid: 3-4 days working from office in Hicksville, NY; schedule can change based on their business needs
Job Summary
This position is within the Power Asset Management department of company's. The Engineer will be responsible for managing the interconnection process of residential and commercial distributed energy resources, such as solar to the LIPA distribution system based on the LIPA tariffs.
Job Responsibilities
Process applications that come through company's Small Generator Interconnection Procedure (SGIP)through multiple phases of project, study, design, engineering, construction, commissioning and commercial operation.
Coordinate with outside developers and customers to process the applications and ensure they meet the requirements of our Tariff in conjunction with internal departments
Develop, maintain, update and monitor project schedules and work plans in accordance with the Scheduling Procedure.
Strong effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
Experience with project control functions such as extract and analyses reports from databases, cost controls and variance reporting
Analyze schedule variances from the execution plan and provide project teams with recommended corrective action to ensure projects meet required in service dates.
Review and familiarity with utility single line drawing and ability to manage multiple projects while providing superb customer service.
Provide support on technical end to assist Renewable and Non-Renewable projects proposed to interconnect to LIPA Distribution System.
Assist in operational management of existing interconnected resources on the Distribution system.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
A minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Access database.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
Planning and organizational skills
Adaptability and a results-oriented mindset
Leadership capabilities, professional, and a customer/client-focused approach
Valid U.S. Driver's License and satisfactory driving record required for the position
