Pay per hour: $27.00 (W2 Contractor)
Part-Time Hours per week: 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: 7 months (possible extension)
Location: Hybrid with a minimum of 2 days per week in Newark, NJ
Job Description:
Primarily supports the company utility line of business with the business planning process. Areas of responsibility will include create and maintain the annual cost plan (O&M and capital); support month end closing activities including journal entries, variance analysis and ad-hoc analysis and reporting; and provide information and recommendations to clients that drive improved business results. The group works collaboratively with its Utility clients as well as other areas of Utility Finance and Accounting.
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for working with the client to prepare and create the annual cost plan in SAP and PCM specifically focused on O&M and Capital costs.
• Support the month end, quarter end and year-end closing processes. These can include creating and maintaining journal entries, conducting actual vs. plan variance analysis and creating ad-hoc analyses.
• Preparation of reports or analyses specifically requested by the client.
• Assist in analyzing results and identify areas of opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field.
• Desire to be challenged, expand professional knowledge and take on more responsibility over time.
• Good planning and organizing skills.
• Strong analytical, business and communication skills.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Experience with Excel or databases.
Desired
• Knowledge in use and application of SAP planning tools, models, techniques and processes.
