Department Overview
Gas Methods and Procedures team is part of Work Methods Implementation within Gas Operations. Gas Methods and Procedure provides technical expertise, procedure development and reviews of PG&E’s natural gas maintenance and construction technical work procedures. This team specializes in the areas of cathodic protection, damage prevention, leak survey & response, plastic distribution system, welding, steel transmission & distribution systems, measurement & control, and new product & tool evaluations.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading technical work procedure efforts associated with Cathodic Protection and Corrosion Control issues. Additional responsibilities will be; Technical Team member, field support of procedural execution, new product evaluations, support of incident investigations, and subject matter support of special programs/projects as needed.
Work location for this position is San Ramon, CA.
Responsibilities
Cathodic Protection expertise to perform the following functions:
Facilitate the creation of new technical work procedures.
Evaluate and recommend new work methods and procedures.
Review and update existing technical work procedures following company requirements.
Field support regarding execution of technical work procedures and provide subject matter support for special projects.
Maintain a working relationship with all associated departments which include Curriculum Development, Maintenance & Construction, and Gas Engineering.
Qualifications
Minimum
A minimum of 6 years of gas utility or relevant experience.
A minimum of 5 years of Cathodic Protection experience.
Proficient with MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint.
Desired
NASE certification.
Demonstrated leadership experience in gas maintenance & operations.
Demonstrated leadership experience in natural gas compliance.
Technical writing experience.
Program/Project Management experience.
Strong oral and written skills.
